Overview:

The School of Computing and Engineering at Quinnipiac University is seeking passionate candidates dedicated to the teacher-scholar-entrepreneur model to join the faculty in a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. This position will start Fall 2023 and will support our undergraduate degree programs and our MS programs in Cybersecurity and Computer Science, both areas of growing interest and demand, driven by increasing enrollment in our 3+1 dual degree programs.

About the School:

The School of Computing and Engineering became the ninth school at Quinnipiac University on July 1, 2016. The school offers BS and BA degrees in computer science; BS degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering; and an MS degree in cybersecurity and computer science. All BS degrees are ABET accredited. Housed in the renovated Communications, Computing, and Engineering building, the school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for our students, the school focuses on high-quality instruction, and offers hands-on training, applied learning opportunities and meaningful student-faculty relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in computer science and graduate courses in Cybersecurity in support of the mission of the department and university
  • Guiding, advising, and mentoring students
  • Establishment of a scholarship agenda appropriate to, and supportive of our School mission. Examples of scholarship can include a variety of conference papers, journal articles, grant writings, and student-mentored research.
  • Engagement in university and community service appropriate to interests

Education Requirements:

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates scheduled to finish before the start of the position are also invited to apply

Qualifications:

  • Interest and abilities to teach graduate Cybersecurity courses, and undergraduate Computer Science courses to support students in our 3+1 dual degree program
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
  • Commitment to the mission of the School of Computing and Engineering
