Quinnipiac University, located in the picturesque Mount Carmel - Hamden, CT area, invites applications for a Full-Time Custodian position within our facilities department.
As a Custodian at Quinnipiac University, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our vibrant campus. As a custodian, you are a promoter of maintaining an environment of EXCELLENCE so our students, faculty, and staff can learn and live successfully.

| An environment of EXCELLENCE comes with the following Responsibilities:
|
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, washing walls, cleaning lavatories, polishing metal and wood, washing, stripping and waxing floors and emptying trash receptacles.
- Assisting in setting up events as required, including moving furniture.
- Shoveling snow and sand in the immediate area around doorways.
- Grounds work around the immediate vicinity of buildings.
- Operate company vehicles safely.
- Replace light bulbs to ensure a safe and well-lit environment.
- Perform spot painting tasks, not patching.
- Change ceiling tiles, including cutting tiles, by consent.
- Unclog toilets, sinks, and showers with the aid of a plunger.
- Platform cleaning, by consent.
- Working from an 8ft ladder for certain cleaning tasks.
- Locking and unlocking premises.
- Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
- Other related work as required.

Qualifications:
|
- Previous experience in maintenance and custodial duties is required.
- A valid CT driver’s license is required.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Physical ability to perform custodial tasks, including lifting and moving up to 25lbs.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
