Overview:

The Media Production Associate will assist in the operations of the Television and Film studio in the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center, and the management of equipment and production spaces in the School of Communications. Specific duties include assisting students and faculty in the TV/Film studio, the control room, the Vault equipment check-out, and post-production suites. Additionally, you will assist the McMahon staff with assorted productions and helping in the remote equipment room. This is a temporary, 30 or 90-day position during the fall 2025 semester. The position will not exceed 19 hours per week. The rate of pay is $30/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting students and faculty in the TV/Film studio, the control room
  • Assisting with inspection, check-out, and return inspection of portable equipment through The Vault
  • Support and maintenance of studio, control-room, and post-production suites,
  • Assisting the McMahon staff with assorted productions

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in media production, studio operations, or equipment management
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with setup and breakdown of media production environments including TV/film studios, control rooms, and post-production suites
  • Familiarity with professional video, audio, and lighting equipment, including portable gear checkout systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning well in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment and production spaces in good working order
  • Working knowledge of software used in post-production, such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition)
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
