Quinnipiac University invites applications for a 12-month full-time clinical faculty role in the Physician Assistant Program. The rank for this position can be at the rank of either associate or assistant depending on experience.
As a Principal Faculty Member in the program, this person will have responsibilities for didactic and clinical instruction.
Candidates who are licensed Physician Assistants with relevant experience and qualifications are encouraged to apply. A weekly clinical practice day may be considered and negotiable at the time of job offer.

The School of Health Sciences is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty and professional staff and enrolls over 2120 students across over 20 graduate and undergraduate academic offerings. The school is organized into 8 departments offering undergraduate majors in biomedical sciences, health sciences, radiologic sciences, medical microbiology & Immunology and diagnostic medical sonography and graduate majors in physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, biomedical sciences, pathologists’ assistant and cardiovascular perfusion. Responsibilities:
|
Support Quinnipiac University and its School of Health Sciences’ missions, visions, and core values.
Administrative
- Regular participation in Physician Assistant Studies (PA) programmatic assessment activities;
- Monitoring student performance in the didactic and clinical years, including attainment of competencies and progression;
- As a member of the clinical team, regularly performing clinical site visits, clinical site development and clinical student advisement;
- Participating in all department-required faculty activities;
- At the discretion of and appointment by the Department Chair, participating on departmental committees;
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair/Program Director;
- At the direction of the Department Chair/Associate Chair, representing the undergraduate and graduate PA programs during recruitment events, welcome weekend, admitted students’ weekends, and open houses.
Teaching and Course Coordination
- Active participation in the remediation and advisement of clinical students;
- Carry an annual course teaching load of 12 credit-hours per year, or the equivalent contact hours, based on the School of Health Sciences policies on administrative duties and faculty rank;
- Participation in regular peer review and psychometric evaluation of assessments;
- Participation in student exam review sessions;
- Coordinate one didactic course annually;
- Regular participation in practical and OSCE assessments of students.
Student Advisement
- Regular advisement of a fairly distributed portion of the students in the clinical phase of the program.

Education Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Physician Assistant
- Earned Master's degree in the area of Physician Assistant from an accredited institution in the United States;
- Minimum 2 years of current clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in the United States;
- Valid National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and eligibility for PA licensure in the State of Connecticut;
- or Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD/DO)
- Minimum of 2 years of current clinical experience as a board-certified physician in the United States;
- Board certification and eligibility for MD/DO licensure in the State of Connecticut;

- Doctorate degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution in the United States;
- Physician Assistant / medical education experience.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
