Overview: Quinnipiac University's School of Computing and Engineering seeks a Manager of Administrative Operations & Strategic Initatives. The school currently offers undergraduate degrees in Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, and Software Engineering and Computer Science and graduate degrees in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. The School is in a growth phase and is seeking a manager who will help this growth strategically, and manage inter-department projects and engage with external partners to diversify revenue stream.

  • Supports the dean on developing strategic initiatives

  • Assists with operationalizing strategic and tactical initiatives by the dean

  • Manages a broad range of high-level, inter-department projects

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of written documents such as program proposals, reviews and reports

  • Takes responsibility/lead positions for special programs or projects as assigned

  • Gathers background information for meetings and researches key policy/program matters for use by the dean; keeps informed of applicable policies, procedures and regulations that may have an impact on the school and/or dean's office

  • Researches and prepares data and presentations for the dean and the provost’s office such as data enrolment planning and budgeting

  • Creates, coordinates, and finalizes various internal and/or external communication, including emails, on behalf of the dean

  • Develops and/or presents information during various meetings with Dean, Associate Dean, and Program Directors and confers with them during various processes

  • Assists with and attends key SCE events like hard hat (student recognition) and projects day ceremonies, as needed

  • Assists with coordination and planning of SCE retreats and Program Directors’ Council meetings

  • Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by the Dean

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with strategic planning and/or program development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use broad range of technology, systems, and software packages
  • Ability to solve a wide range of problems, developing thoughtful and thorough solutions, and using effective communication and listening skills
  • Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to connect with a wide range of community members across the university
  • Demonstrated competency in independently applying judgement and nonstandard applications and systems
  • Experience in higher education administration
