The School of Business at Quinnipiac University invites dynamic and innovative educators to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in our Finance Department, beginning Fall 2026.
We are seeking a forward-thinking professional with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Financial Technology (FinTech), Financial Analytics, Advanced Financial Modeling, Trading, Investments (traditional and alternative), and Portfolio Management. Candidates with strengths in Market Microstructure, Behavioral Finance, Corporate Finance, Risk Management & Insurance, or Financial Institutions will also be strongly considered.
This role is a cornerstone of our strategic initiative to transform the finance major, aligning our curriculum with evolving industry trends and preparing students for the next generation of careers in finance.

About the Department:
|
The faculty of the Finance Department have diverse research interests, covering a wide range of topics in asset management, derivatives, alternative assets, behavioral finance and emerging technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence. The faculty of the Finance Department publish regularly in top journals, including JFQE, JEB, and QREF, among many others.
The department offers both a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Financial Technology for its approximately 450 undergraduate majors. The department also supports a variety of graduate courses in the MBA and Professional MBA programs. The finance program manages the Quinnipiac University Global Asset Management Education Forum (GAME) which is the largest student-run finance conference in the world. GAME annually attracts nearly 1,500 students and faculty from over 125 colleges around the country. It offers participants the rarest of opportunities: to discuss and debate financial best practices with world-renowned industry leaders. Additionally, the department supports a $5.0 million student managed investment fund using the resources of the school’s Terry Goodwin ’67 Financial Technology Center.

The Quinnipiac University School of Business is a dynamic, student-centric community that includes 1450 undergraduate and 550 graduate students. We offer 13 undergraduate majors, 15 minors, 3 dual degree programs, 4 accelerated dual degree programs, and 5 graduate degree programs. We offer in classroom as well as online programs. We are an AACSB accredited school in business and have earned the distinctive AACSB accreditation in accounting. Our 60 full-time faculty, administrators, and administrative support staff are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. The school is a signatory to the UNPRME. As a part of its vision for the future, the School of Business is constructing a new building to create an environment to enhance students’ learning and social development while providing faculty state-of-the-art facilities for research, advanced pedagogy, and immersive learning approaches. Responsibilities and Qualifications:
|
The successful candidate will balance responsibilities for teaching, research, and services. Visiting appointments are primarily focused on teaching.
Primary Requirements
- Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or closely related field from an accredited institution
- An ability to make immediate teaching and research contributions to growth areas including financial technology (FinTech), financial analytics, advanced financial modeling, trading, investments (traditional and alternative), and portfolio management
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching
- Scholarly activity sufficient to meet Quinnipiac University School of Business AACSB Scholarly Academic standards
- Ability to engage students in active and experiential learning
- A commitment to inclusive and innovative pedagogy
- Ability to integrate real-world financial applications into teaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to a supportive and collegial working environment
- Tenure track faculty teach on a 3/3 load
Additional responsibilities (tenure track)
- Developing and teaching experiential courses both on ground and online in the various sub-domains of Finance
- Conducting research and publishing in high-quality journals
- Meaningful and active school/university-level service contributions
- Supporting the department’s recruitment, advising, retention and co-curricular activities in both undergraduate and MBA programs
- Contributing to the overall supportive culture of the School of Business by participating in workshops, retreats, and other relevant activities
- Advising and mentoring students; preparing and delivering active learning courses class activities; and compiling, administering, and grading assignments/ examinations
- Helping to build external partnerships which support the department’s guest speaker series, internship programs, job placement efforts, and curricular development projects (e.g., sources of case studies)
- Demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills
- Collaborating with department members and other school of university colleagues in research and teaching endeavors
- Supporting the University’s Lifelong Learning Initiatives

Education Requirements:
|
- Ph.D. in Finance, FinTech, Economics, , or a closely related field (ABD candidates with a clear completion timeline will be considered) from an accredited Business School or University.
