Responsibilities: |
- Supports the School of Nursing’s strategic initiatives, mission, vision and values.
- Maintain the confidentiality of faculty, staff, and students with respect to personal, academic, and related professional issues that are presented to the dean’s office.
- Maintain phone coverage, greet visitors and students, take messages, relay information and respond to electronic messaging. Handle high public contact efficiently and professionally.
- Have knowledge of Quinnipiac policies and procedures, catalog, and the student resource manual, answer questions within scope of knowledge and authority.
- Schedule and maintain electronic calendar for the dean’s executive team. Assist with maintaining the electronic School of Nursing calendar of meetings and events.
- Maintain general awareness of the timeline for major events and projects; take initiative and look for opportunities to assist, including with the organization, preparation and ordering for receptions, open houses, information sessions, and other university events. Some occasional weekend and evening coverage may be required for special events.
- Arrange conferences, meetings and travel as required, notify participants, and arrange for all materials, food, facilities, technical equipment, and support functions. Work with the Director, Business Operations and Administration, to arrange logistics for site visits by accreditation visitors and coordinate arrangements. Assist with the organization, preparation and ordering for receptions, open houses, information sessions and other University events. Schedule and coordinate meetings inclusive of all related logistics.
- Use University software to perform duties such as correspondence, spreadsheets, dean’s list cards, meeting minutes, reports, presentations, grants, forms and memos. Edit work for accuracy, format, spelling, punctuation and construction. Assure timely completion of all material. Gather and enter data for the preparation of various reports/documents. Attend, document, maintain and post minutes for requested meetings.
- Use Quinnipiac’s database systems and budgeting software fully and effectively in adherence with university policies.
- Create, organize and maintain a filing system for all pertinent data/information related to administration, faculty and staff.
- Assist with the supervision of student workers.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: |
- High School Diploma or GED required
|
Qualifications: |
- Knowledge of secretarial procedures, including high proficiency in word processing
- The ability to regularly compose non-routine correspondence
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
- Knowledge of elementary accounting, ability to maintain simple line item budgets
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion

- The hourly rate is $25.97.
- Work week is 35 hours per week.
