Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences as a Full-Time Clinical Faculty in Diagnostic Imaging. As a Clinical Faculty member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of diagnostic imaging professionals. Your responsibilities will include: teaching and mentoring, clinical practice, and curriculum development.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct DMS program content as needed and instruct hands on lab skills, as needed
  • Conduct assigned classes in accordance with the catalog and course description and objectives for the course
  • Develop methods of assessing student learning as specified in the objectives and providing feedback to students in a timely manner
  • Clearly communicate to students at the beginning of a course what they are to learn (course descriptions, syllabi, the grading system, and the learning objectives, attendance policy etc.)
  • Evaluate students and provide documented feedback to students based on course outcomes
  • Promote effective student learning through assignments and class activities including the use of a variety of instructional techniques designed to meet student needs, promoting active and independent learning, and promoting higher-order thinking
  • Demonstrate respect and empathy towards students, acknowledging and accommodating their diverse personal differences and educational needs
  • Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe to learn and seek assistance when needed
  • Provide opportunities outside of class for students to get assistance
  • Prepare and maintain DMS labs, ensuring the proper functioning of instructional equipment, including ordering supplies and promptly reporting any disfunction to the Program Director in a timely manner
  • Monitor student progress, report retention and progression issues to the Program Director
  • Provide service to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the School of Health Sciences and the University
  • Participate in professional development on best practices for teaching excellence
  • Participate in continuing education activities as required by the profession
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department chair and program director

Education Requirements:

  • Possess minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field. Masters Degree preferred
  • Certified and in good standing as a RDMS (OB/GYN preferred), RVT and RMSK with the ARDMS. Multi-credentialed preferred. Additional certification as a RDCS preferred

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of related practical work experience in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (minimum 2 years full-time employment)
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a diagnostic medical sonography program and/or a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community

  • Ability to multitask and manage time
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
