Overview:

The School of Computing and Engineering at Quinnipiac University prides itself in its excellence in education. We are seeking candidates who share this passion to join the faculty in a full-time, visiting position in Software Engineering for the 2023-2024 academic year.

About the School:

The School of Computing and Engineering became the ninth school at Quinnipiac University on July 1, 2016. The school offers BS and BA degrees in computer science; BS degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering; and an MS degree in cybersecurity. All BS degrees are ABET accredited. Housed in the renovated Communications, Computing, and Engineering building, the school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for our students, the school focuses on high-quality instruction, and offers hands-on training, applied learning opportunities and meaningful student-faculty relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching 3 courses (9 credits) per semester.
  • Covering courses in several areas and at all levels of software engineering and/or computer science.
  • Engagement in university and community service appropriate to interests

Education Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required.

Qualifications:

• Preference will be given to applicants with interest and abilities to teach courses in the software engineering curriculum
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students
• Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field
• Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
• Commitment to the mission of the School of Computing and Engineering
