The Department of Strategic Communication in the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University is seeking a 1-year visiting assistant professor (non-tenure track) in Advertising and Integrated Communications. The department seeks a colleague to teach courses in social media strategy and analytics as well as advertising and content creation. We are looking for a creative professional to bring innovation and technical skills to our growing program. The position starts August 2022 and may be renewed on an annual basis for up to three years.

  • Teach creative and experiential courses such as Strategies for Social Media, Social and Mobile Media, Media Systems and Planning, and Social Media Analytics
  • Teaching is the primary duty of visiting faculty (4-4 per year)
  • Other duties include, advise and mentor students; prepare and deliver lectures and engaging class activities; compile, administer, and grade assignments/examinations


Education Requirements:

  • A master’s degree in communications or a related field is required


  • Ability to effectively teach in the areas of Advertising and Integrated Communications at the undergraduate and master’s level
  • Previous teaching and significant professional experience in advertising is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence of teaching effectiveness, preferably in classroom environments
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment and the ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community, the department, and the School of Communications
