Overview:

The Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences of Quinnipiac University seeks highly qualified applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching for a one semester visiting faculty position for the Spring 2025 semester.

This is a full-time, non-benefits-eligible position.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach on-ground introductory physics courses including PHY101 (Elements of Physics) and PHY111 (General Physics II).
  • Prepare and deliver lectures and engaging class activities.
  • Compile, administer, and grade assignments/examinations.
  • Hold a minimum of 4 regularly scheduled office hours each week.
  • Manage courses and grades through Blackboard. 

Education Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Physics (or closely related field) is required at time of appointment to be hired at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Candidates with a master’s degree in Physics (or closely related field) are eligible to be hired at the rank of Visiting Instructor.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level.
  • Experience in the use of instructional technologies, especially Blackboard.
  • Commitment and ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community, the department, and the College of Arts & Sciences
