The School of Education at Quinnipiac University seeks a dynamic and visionary Assistant or Associate Professor and Director of Special Education to lead and advance our Special Education programs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to excellence in teaching, and a forward-thinking approach to Special Education.
This position is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment and is scheduled to begin in July 2025. The candidate will be required to regularly attend university and school meetings, activities, and events in person.

Responsibilities:
|

Oversee and be responsible for all program tracks in their area

Hiring for adjunct faculty
-
Advising students
-
Working with marketing to promote the programs
-
Overseeing the program budget
-
Preparing for program CAEP accreditation
-
Course scheduling and program revision based on data-driven outcomes

Education Requirements:
|
- Earned doctorate in special education or a related education field from an accredited university
|
Qualifications:
|
- A minimum of 5 years or more experience as a K-12 special educator in the public schools
- Significant online teaching experience and knowledge of the design and implementation of online instruction
- Higher education teaching experience required
- Preferred: hold an administrative license and /or experience as an educational leader
- Candidates with creative vision for the future of Special Education, who bring vitality and an equity lens through which they see possibilities for preparing teachers in this field will be highly regarded.
