The Quinnipiac University School of Business invites applications for the role of a leadership position as Associate Dean of Operations and Student Experience. The Associate Dean will help elevate the student experience within a nationally recognized school by guiding excellence in student experiences, operations, enrollment, and financial management and by fostering program excellence and innovation in both and student experiences and undergraduate and graduate programs.
As Associate Dean of Operations and Student Experience, you will join a forward-thinking School of Business team deeply committed to preparing students for meaningful 21st-century careers and lives. This role offers the opportunity to influence academic operations, shape an exceptional student experience, and collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to cultivate an engaged, thriving learning community.
As a member of the School of Business leadership team, the Associate Dean plays an integral role in advancing the school’s strategic plan and supporting the implementation of the University’s broader strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff, the Associate Dean ensures program innovation and excellence, effective admissions and enrollment management practices, and high-performance operations that support student success.
This is a full-time, professional staff, 12-month, in-person appointment, reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Business. The Associate Dean will teach at the graduate or undergraduate level (1/1 load) and shall maintain scholarly academic qualifications as defined by the school’s standards for teaching, research, and service.
This position may be eligible for an academic appointment. To qualify, candidates must meet the criteria for associate or full professor in one of the school's departments and possess a record of teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with the standards for earning tenure at the School of Business at Quinnipiac University.

The Quinnipiac University School of Business is a dynamic, student-centric community that includes 1,650 undergraduate and 550 graduate students. We offer 15 undergraduate majors, 16 minors, 3 dual degree programs, 4 accelerated dual degree programs, and 5 graduate degree programs. We offer in classroom as well as online and hybrid programs. Responsibilities:
|
Program Excellence
- Ensure quality undergraduate and graduate programs by working with faculty to develop innovative new programs and continuously improve curriculum and School of Business co-curricular experiences
- Explore and encourage the development of high-quality interdisciplinary and innovative programs designed to enhance student experiences, including certificates and badges, and programs for lifelong learners
- Work with external partners to align them with student experience initiatives, such as capstone project experiences
Student Experience
• Advance student success through a robust system of student advising, student communication, and by developing initiatives to increase student satisfaction, retention, and timely graduation • Service as a School of Business liaison with Quinnipiac’s Office of the Dean of students and the Provost’s office including matters of academic standing
• Support continuous improvement of student advising for undergraduate and graduate students
Admissions and Enrollment Management
• Work collaboratively with admissions staff and school faculty on strategy and implementation of student recruitment and retention in undergraduate, graduate, and nondegree programs • Oversee enrollment planning, and admissions processes and events ensuring a seamless experience from first impression through yield to matriculation
Planning and Administration
• Serve as a member of the Dean’s administrative leadership team • Manage budget operations, including expense approvals, variance reporting, and annual budget planning. • Work collaboratively with other deans, directors, and program chairs to create course schedules, ensuring that teaching loads, faculty sufficiency ratios, and faculty qualification ratios are met • Report school-level and accounting program data as required for AACSB accreditation • Provide leadership for the student services team, assistant dean, and the team administrative assistants to foster positive leadership and a collaborative environment • Oversee the operations of the school, liaising with university departments including facilities, IT, HR, and public safety • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:
|
- Doctoral degree in business or related discipline required
|
|
Qualifications:
|
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education
- Proven ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and external partners in program and curricular development, and addressing issues (including identifying root causes, and implementing solutions quickly and professionally
- Values-based leader with demonstrated success collaborating with faculty across disciplines, experience working across units and functional areas, including forging, and overseeing interdisciplinary programs and initiatives in an inclusive environment
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in measuring, monitoring, and reporting metrics
- Demonstrated accomplishments student advising and in developing and launching innovative academic programs.
- Academic or related administrative experience and demonstrated success overseeing complex operations, financial management, and accreditation at the school or department level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment handling many projects simultaneously, exceptional organization skills
- Commitment to contribute to inclusive excellence in the academic community
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
