The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Quinnipiac University seeks to hire an Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology. The area of specialization within psychology is open. The Department of Psychology consists of 13 full-time faculty, over 350 majors and 325 minors. Our current full-time faculty represent a range of specializations including behavioral neuroscience, clinical, cognitive, developmental, industrial/organizational, and social psychology. We welcome applications from candidates from any of these areas as well as from candidates whose specialization would enhance the diversity of specializations in our department. The position is a full-time teaching faculty position and does not require a program of research.
Our departmental mission is to work with students to increase their scientific and psychological literacy while they prepare themselves for meaningful careers and personal lives. We are committed to inclusive teaching practices and weaving diversity throughout our courses and programs. Therefore, we are particularly interested in candidates who have centered, or will center, their work around inclusive practices and who will join us in fostering diversity in our department. In addition, the College of Arts and Sciences offers 32 undergraduate minors, an MS in Molecular and Cell Biology, and the additional accelerated undergraduate/graduate programs: 3+1 and 4+1 BS/MS programs in Molecular and Cell Biology, 3+3 BA or BS/JD degree, 3+1 BA in Data Science/MS or MA in Communications, 3+1 BS in Data Science/MBA, 3+1 BS in Economics/MS in Accounting, Business Analytics, or Journalism or MBA, 3+1 BA in Theater/MBA or MA in Communications, and 3+2 BA or BS/MSW. Students can also complete a 5-year BA/BS and MA in Teaching in the following secondary education fields: Biology, English, History, and Math.

Responsibilities:
|
- Teaching responsibilities will typically be 4 courses (12 credits) per semester and include foundational psychology curriculum courses, contribution to our statistics and research methods courses, as well as courses in the candidate’s area of specialization
- Additional responsibilities will include academic advising, supervision of undergraduate internships and/or independent studies, as well as intentional engagement in department, college, university, and community service to help advance the mission and values of the program, department, college, and university
