Overview: Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Facilities and Event Management.  This position will be responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of the University. It will ensure that the University has the most suitable working environment for its employees, students, and their activities. It will be generally focused on using best business practice to improve efficiency by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity.

  • Responsible for central scheduling for entire university
  • Oversee the University scheduling software system including maintenance of an accurate room inventory, troubleshooting room conflicts, and room usage management
  • Co-chair of the University Commencement exercises
  • Coordinate small projects related to off campus properties
  • Coordinate the scheduling and supervision of departmental overtime personnel
  • Monitor real estate contracts and their execution and distribution (non collection)
  • Assist with plans and budgets for facilities projects to support fiscal decision making
  • Lead with negotiations for off campus planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Facilitate the communication of all parties involved with room management/scheduling with multiple departments
  • Liaison to the Town of Hamden/North Haven for off campus permitting
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience required in area of expertise
  • Strong level of specialized knowledge to manage complex tasks, programs or projects
  • Experience with event planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to respond with equanimity to frequently changing requirements and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
