Overview: Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Coach, Women's Ice Hockey to join one of the nation's most competitive Division 1 programs. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of elite student-athletes—on the ice, in the classroom, and as leaders.

In this role, you will play a key part in identifying and recruiting top-tier talent while contributing to a high-performance culture built on excellence, accountability, and continuous growth. You’ll work closely with the coaching staff to design and lead practices, support game preparation, and deliver impactful individual and team development sessions.

The ideal candidate brings a deep knowledge of the game, a strong ability to teach and develop athletes, and a relentless commitment to growth—both personally and for the program. Just as important is a passion for mentoring student-athletes and contributing to their success beyond hockey.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the highest standard of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, ECAC Hockey and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Identification, recruitment, and retention of elite student-athletes.
  • Knowledge and experience to contribute to practice design & delivery, positively impacting individual and team development.
  • Mentor student-athletes to aspire and achieve academically and athletically.
  • Facilitate individual and team video sessions.
  • Analyze Quinnipiac and opponent game film in preparation of competition strategy.
  • Ability to conduct high level individual skill sessions.
  • Assist in organizing and coaching camps and clinics.
  • Overall program administration including, liaising with admissions and NCAA compliance offices.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as requested by Head Coach.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in successful college coaching 
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, NCAA rules and regulations are essential
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice on the ice
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the competition schedule
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
