Overview:

Quinnipiac University’s School of Health Sciences is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Department of Social Work as a Field Education Coordinator. As Field Education Coordinator, you'll be instrumental in connecting MSW students with real-world practice opportunities. You'll develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies, coordinate field placements, and ensure students receive quality supervision that bridges classroom theory with hands-on experience. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the next generation of social work professionals while contributing to community partnerships that make a lasting difference.

Our new online MSW program admit the first cohort of students in January 2025 and our enrollment is increasing.

This is a full-time, 12-month staff position, with a minimum of three days on-campus presence per week requirement, to support the growth of our online and on-ground MSW Program.

About the School/Program:

The School of Health Sciences is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty and professional staff and enrolls over 2120 students across over 20 graduate and undergraduate academic offerings. The school is organized into 8 departments offering undergraduate majors in biomedical sciences, health sciences, radiologic sciences, medical microbiology & Immunology and diagnostic medical sonography and graduate majors in physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, biomedical sciences, pathologists’ assistant and cardiovascular perfusion. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of field education experiences for online and on-ground Master of Social Work (MSW) students
  • Process applications for field education and coordinate placements for eligible MSW students
  • Support the development and maintenance of field placement sites for the MSW Program, including recruitment of qualified sites, field instructors and task supervisors
  • Maintain field education coordination records and status of student placement process
  • Work with the Director of Field Education and Associate Director of Online Field Education in facilitating orientations for students in the MSW Program
  • Participate in the Field Advisory and Community Outreach Committee of the Department of Social Work.
  • Coordinate with other Field Education Coordinators to prepare and disseminate the MSW field newsletter annually
  • Participate in MSW Program student recruitment events, including in graduate admissions activities, open houses and orientations
  • Complete other duties related to the MSW program as assigned by supervisor

 

 

Education Requirements:

• Must possess a master’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum two years of documented post-MSW practice experience

• Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards and procedures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-MSW social work practice experience preferably be in the area of health and/or mental health
  • Experience in MSW field instruction or supervision
  • Commitment to contribute to inclusive excellence of the academic community
  •  Member of a social work organization
  •  Student advising experience in MSW program
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
