Responsibilities: |
VIVARIUM / PROCEDURE ROOMS
Handling/weighing animals – I will mark the cage cards of animals that should be handled or weighed in Room 3 (room with rats).
Food/water/temp checks
Sweeping floors
Dusting
Changing enrichment (replace nestlets or otherwise)
GENERAL LAB
Glassware or items in sink: Wash with warm diluted soapy water (squeeze bottle with alconox), rinse thoroughly with tap water, then rinse 3-4 times with deionized water.
Sweep behavioral rooms to be sure no bedding or food
General straightening of lab
Lab organization
ADDITIONAL TASKS
Specific lab tasks, as necessary and based on faculty needs (e.g., cleaning Prof. Haight's operant boxes)

Qualifications: |
Quinnipiac Undergraduate in Behavioral Neuroscience or other science or psychology field who is eligible for federal work study. (Because of the extensive training required, we ask that students plan to commit for at least 2 semesters.)

Hours of Position: |
4.5 hours per week. Timing is flexible |

- Note: New hires are required to complete online laboratory and animal care training via Blackboard and CITI. They also must complete some additional orientation modules, one of which requires completion of a Student/Employee Health Animal Handler’s Health History Questionnaire. This completed questionnaire should be shared with the new hire’s primary care physician.
