Overview:

The Frank H. Netter MD, School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Sciences, specializing in Behavioral Health and Social Sciences. Successful candidates will be expected to teach broadly across the pre-clinical curriculum to medical students and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.  They will collaborate with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines to develop instructional materials and deliver effective teaching methods that cater to the diverse needs of our students

About the School:

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University graduated its inaugural class of medical students in May 2017. The school was founded with the aim of educating diverse, patient-centered physicians who are partners and leaders in an interprofessional primary-care workforce. Our primary-care mission has expanded to include institutes for rehabilitation medicine and global public health. Responsibilities:

  • Instruction to medical students broadly across the behavioral and social sciences through a variety of instructional methods including lecture, problem-based learning, team-based learning, case-based learning, and online teaching.
  • Develop, coordinate, integrate, deliver, and assess curricular materials independently and in collaboration with other faculty members.
  • Clinician candidates may also be engaged in instruction in the clinical curriculum. 
  • Advise and mentor medical students regarding academic, curricular, capstone project, and career matters.
  • Additional specific responsibilities include scholarly activity, service on committees, and other duties as negotiated and assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Qualifications for this position include a MD, DO, or PhD degree.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching, scholarship, and/or clinical practice of behavioral and social sciences is highly desirable
  • Successful candidates must present evidence of an established record of, or demonstrate a strong potential for, effective teaching
  • A commitment to work productively with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines
  • Evidence for potential of productive scholarly and creative activity is also desired
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
