Overview:

Quinnipiac University is seeking a dynamic Senior HR Generalist professional looking for an opportunity to help shape a positive and inclusive work culture and play a pivotal role supporting the Associate Vice President for Human Resources.  As the Senior HR Generalist, you will partner with the Associate VP for Human Resources to provide support to assigned HR functional areas and help drive HR initiatives and strategies aligned with Quinnipiac's goals.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the HR functions, a strategic mindset and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all HR compliance as it pertains to University policy, union contracts, state and federal employment regulations. Stay updated on changes in legislation and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures
  • Assist with managing leaves of absence (FMLA, disability, workers compensation) and accommodation requests
  • Oversee performance evaluation processes, provide guidance to managers, and assist HRBPs in developing performance improvement plans when necessary
  • Manage staff/faculty mandatory training compliance
  • Project lead on learning and development, liaison with QU’s Lifelong Learning for training cohorts, assist AVP with logistics for other leadership training
  • Lead or participate in HR projects and initiatives such as process improvements, policy reviews
  • Develop and maintain HR metrics to track key performance indicators. Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR senior leaders to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Prepare Power Point presentations for VPHR 
  • Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of progressive human resources experience
  • Exceptional written and communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team to foster teamwork and collaboration
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting union contracts, along with experience ensuring compliance with relevant employment regulations is desired
  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate HR initiatives into business results
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills for prioritizing work
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues in a mature manner while demonstrating high levels of discretion
