Overview:

The School of Business at Quinnipiac University invites applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching and contributing to a collaborative team to apply for a Full-Time Visiting Faculty of Business Analytics and Information Systems to begin August 2024.  This position is for the 2024-2025 academic year. In this role, you will teach undergraduate and graduate courses (in-person and online) and be an active member of the university community by engaging in university service, advising, and research.  Please note: This is an in-person position located on our Mt. Carmel campus, Hamden, CT.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach experiential courses both on ground and online in the Business Analytics and Information Systems area, including Database Programming & Design, Introduction to Business Analytics, and Introduction to Computer Information Systems
  • Teaching is the primary duty of visiting faculty (4 courses will be taught each semester)
  • Other duties include advising and mentoring students; preparing and delivering active learning course content and engaging class activities; and compiling, administering, and grading assignments/examinations

Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field is required. A doctorate in one of these fields is preferred. Candidates who are ABD with potential for high-quality teaching are encouraged to apply

Qualifications:

  • Scholarly activity to meet Quinnipiac School of Business-AACSB Scholarly Academic or Scholarly Practitioner status criteria or conferral of doctorate from an AACSB accredited university within the last 3 years
  • Ability to effectively teach in the areas of Business Analytics and Information Systems at the undergraduate and/or master’s level
  • Previous teaching and professional experience in the information technology field is preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence of teaching effectiveness, preferably in classroom environments
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
