Overview: Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Program Assistant. This position will perform clerical, and program assistant duties required to support the School of Nursing and the Community Engagement Program. This position is a 2 year grant funded role.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the School of Nursing and the Community Engagement Program in the performance of duties, as directed by the Director of Community Engagement and the Dean of Nursing.
  • Create and maintain a database of all community outreach events/efforts, including assisting the Director of Community Engagement in the collection and entering of data into a secured platform. Organize and maintain a filing system for all pertinent data, so that it is readily accessible.
  • Utilize University software, fully and effectively. Assist in the preparation and creation of emails, various reports, grants, documents, spreadsheets, memos, etc. Edit work for accuracy, format, spelling, punctuation, and construction with timely completion.
  • Arrange meetings and program events as required, notify participants, arrange for all event materials, food, facilities, AV equipment and support functions.
  • Assist with travel arrangements as needed.
  • Assist the Director with community education and program marketing materials, brochures, audiovisual aids and presentation handouts as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to faculty, students and university and community members by answering questions and providing information within the scope of authority. Handle high public contact efficiently and professionally.
  • Provide coverage for other clerical staff in the School of Nursing as requested and directed by the Dean.
  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required for events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Capable of effectively handling multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  • Flexible hours: a portion of work time may be devoted to implementing program activities during evening/weekend hours.
  • Please note this is a Grade 5 position in the Clerical & Technical Union.
  • The hourly rate is $24.83.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a Microsoft Office skills test and background check.
