Overview: The Pilotte Lab at Quinnipiac University seeks a talented and motivated Research Assistant for a full-time, one-year position with the possibility of renewal. The Pilotte Lab utilizes molecular biology techniques to study parasitology and neglected tropical disease.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing molecular diagnostic assays (PCR, real-time PCR)
  • Performing basic molecular techniques such as cloning, bacterial transformation, etc
  • Performing DNA isolation techniques
  • Maintaining accurate laboratory records
  • Assisting/mentoring undergraduate (and potentially master’s level) students with related work
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in molecular biology or related discipline (microbiology, cellular biology, biology, etc.) required
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience may substitute for the above education requirement
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel (2-4 weeks annually) to assist with training events and with the field collection of samples
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
