We are seeking candidates who share this passion to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position in Software Engineering at the Assistant Professor level starting Fall 2024. Eligible candidates will be considered for a tenure-track Associate Professor level position. Candidates dedicated to the teacher-scholar model, with interest in scholarship and grant writing in support of our mission, are also encouraged to apply.

About the School:
|
The School of Computing and Engineering became the ninth school at Quinnipiac University on July 1, 2016. The school offers BS and BA degrees in computer science; BS degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering; and an MS degree in cybersecurity. All BS degrees are ABET accredited. Housed in the renovated Communications, Computing, and Engineering building, the school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for our students, the school focuses on high-quality instruction, and offers hands-on training, applied learning opportunities and meaningful student-faculty relationships.

Responsibilities:
|
- Teaching courses in several areas and at all levels of software engineering and/or computer science.
- Guiding, advising, and mentoring students
- Establishment of a scholarship agenda appropriate to, and supportive of, our School mission. Examples of scholarship can include a variety of conference papers, journal articles, grant writings, and student-mentored research
- Engagement in university and community service appropriate to interests

Education Requirements:
|
- A PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required before the start of the position
|
Qualifications:
|
- Preference will be given to applicants with interest and abilities to teach courses in the software engineering curriculum
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field
- Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
