Overview: Quinnipiac University has an exciting opportunity available for a Assistant Director of Student Experience, School of Business. This position will help ensure the School of Business provides quality, consistent, and timely academic services to undergraduate students in the School of Business and works to improve co-curricular programming and culture within the School. Responsibilities include academic advising of first-year and transfer students, collaborating with student leaders and faculty advisors of student organizations, participating in admissions events, building a strong culture of identity for the School of Business through extracurricular engagement and community building, and other student services.

Responsibilities:
  • Champion student success by providing accurate and timely academic advising to first-year and transfer business students, especially those in the Business 360 program – approximately 150 students per year
  • Participate in academic component of first year and transfer student orientation sessions by providing guidance on course registration and introduction to the School of Business community
  • Build a strong culture of identity for the School of Business through extracurricular engagement and community building – approximately 3-5 small events per month and 1-2 large events per semester
  • Elevate student organizations through collaboration with student leaders and faculty advisors – improve student membership numbers and both quantity and quality of student organization programming
  • Offer student programming including orientation-related events and social events
  • Help build a strong culture and sense of identity and community for the School of Business and for our +1 programs through community-building events and information sessions
  • Serve on campus-wide academic advising council
  • Teach one course per semester (fall/spring)
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience may substitute for some of the above education qualifications
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in student services, program administration, student activities, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a Learning Management Software (Blackboard) 
  • Proven communication skills, including written, oral, and visual
  • Prior experience advising student leaders preferred
  • Proven ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories
  • Proven ability to oversee event planning and programs
  • Proven ability to instruct students and staff in program planning
  • Strong systems and processing knowledge with respect to general business and academic operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
