Overview:

Quinnipiac University's School of Engineering seeks candidates for a one semester visiting teaching faculty position in computer science at any rank beginning Jan 3, 2022. Outstanding applicants in all areas are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants should be prepared to teach courses in several areas of computer science and/or software engineering. Preference will be given to applicants with interest and abilities to teach courses at all levels of the undergraduate curricula.

About the School:

The School of Engineering became the ninth school at Quinnipiac University on July 1, 2016. The school offers BS and BA degrees in computer science and BS degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering. Housed in the renovated Center for Communications and Engineering, the school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated to providing the best possible engineering learning experience for our students, the school focuses on high-quality instruction, and offers hands-on training, applied learning opportunities and meaningful student-faculty relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing courses and teaching in various areas of computer science and/or software engineering
  • Hold office hours and support student learning

Education Requirements:

  • Master’s in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field preferred

Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach courses in several areas of computer science and/or software engineering
  • Preference will be given to applicants with interest and abilities to teach courses at all levels of the undergraduate curricula
  • Related industry or academic experience 
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
