Quinnipiac University invites applications for a Social Media and Community Engagement Specialist leads the management, creation and execution of Quinnipiac’s social media and community engagement initiatives with an exclusive concentration on strategies and content for Enrollment Management. The position is responsible for ensuring a strong, engaging, and consistent presence on all relevant platforms while continuously identifying ways to enhance performance in pursuit of enrollment goals. This role also includes a strong focus on building communities with prospective and incoming students by becoming an advocate of QU in social media and community spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.


Within Enrollment Management, the Enrollment Marketing team is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of marketing strategies and tactics to attract and engage prospective students at each stage of the student journey on their path to enrolling at a Quinnipiac University.

  • Manages presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and other similar community sites, seeding content into applications as needed
  • Drives engagement in social media and community spaces with active and consistent responses to questions, and by encouraging conversation
  • Maintains editorial calendar within selected technology platform, which includes ongoing coordination with partners, inputting content, editing, publishing and reporting
  • Develop, write and execute content according to social strategies. Strong writing that inspires engagement via social is a must
  • Work with in-house creative partners to develop appropriate content assets that align with enrollment goals
  • Maintain and develop relevant digital content for technology in the Quinnipiac’s Visitor Center and campus tours
  • Develop and distribute metrics reporting on content performance and engagement across all channels
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-2 years of experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective users how they can be utilized to accomplish marketing and sales objectives
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with knowledge of grammar and style guidelines
  • Effective storyteller capable of capturing an organization's voice and leveraging brand narrative strategy to accomplish goals
  • Strong project management, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • A passion for creating sharable social content
  • Resourceful, creative and with the ability to connect people and stimulate lively / engaging discussions
  • A data-driven mindset and passion for learning new things
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as in collaboration with team members and external stakeholders
  • Stellar attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
