Quinnipiac University's College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure-Track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Psychology department. We are seeking applicants with expertise in minority mental health (e.g. risk or resilience in minority populations, mental health disparities) and/or experience working with diverse populations. This position will begin August 2021.

We are particularly interested in candidates who will embrace the teacher-scholar model and our mission to build and nurture inclusive communities both within and outside of our classrooms.

The Department offers B.S. degrees in Psychology and in Behavioral Neuroscience. Both major programs are designed around a psychological science core, and curricula that emphasize examining phenomena from multiple perspectives within psychology and neuroscience. Psychology majors may opt to concentrate in Applied Clinical Science, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or Applied Cognitive Psychology. Teaching load on the tenure track is generally three courses per semester. We currently have research space that is shared among members of the department. Salary is highly competitive with other private four-year institutions.

The College of Arts and Sciences offers undergraduate majors in behavioral neuroscience, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, criminal justice, economics, English, game design and development, gerontology, history, independent majors, interdisciplinary studies, law in society, mathematics, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, Spanish language and literature, and theater. In addition, the College of Arts and Sciences offers 31 undergraduate minors, a MS in Molecular and Cell Biology and the additional accelerated undergraduate/graduate programs: 3+1 and 4+1 BS/MS programs in Molecular and Cell Biology, 3+3 BA or BS/JD degree, 3+1 BA in Theater/MBA, and 3+2 BA or BS/MSW. Students can also complete a 5-year BA/BS and MA in Teaching in the following secondary education fields: Biology, English, History, Math and Spanish.

• Teaching responsibilities include teaching abnormal psychology, clinical psychology, contribution to our research methods sequence courses as well as courses in their specialization.
• Additional responsibilities include:
  • The establishment of a research agenda that includes opportunities for student involvement
  • Academic advising
  • Supervision of undergraduate internships
  • Intentional engagement in department, college, university, and community service

• Earned PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program

• University-level teaching experience in psychology
• License-eligibility in the state of CT by August 2021
• Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
