Overview: The Frank H. Netter MD, School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University seeks applicants for full-time faculty positions in the Department of Medical Sciences teaching in the pre-clinical curriculum. Successful candidates will be expected to teach broadly across the curriculum to medical students and to work with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines to develop instructional materials and to teach effectively. Responsibilities: • Instruction to medical students broadly across the basic medical sciences in the Foundations of Medicine course through a variety of instructional methods including lecture, problem-based learning, team-based learning, case-based learning, and on-line teaching
• Develop, coordinate, integrate, deliver and assess curricular materials independently and in collaboration with other faculty members
• Clinician candidates will also be engaged in instruction in the Clinical Arts and Sciences Course; as well as other areas of the curriculum
• Advise and mentor medical students regarding academic, curricular, capstone project, and career matters
• Additional specific responsibilities include scholarly activity, service on committees, and other duties as negotiated and assigned
Education Requirements: •  MD, DO, or PhD degree
Qualifications:
  • Successful candidates must present evidence of an established record of, or demonstrate a strong potential for, effective teaching, and a commitment to work productively with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines
  • Evidence for potential of productive scholarly and creative activity is also desired
  • A background in physiology, histology and/or pathology is an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence of the academic community
  • The ability to teach students from all backgrounds
