Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences invites applications for a Full-Time Clinical Faculty & Academic Fieldwork Coordinator: Occupational Therapy. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is mainly responsible for ensuring program compliance with fieldwork requirements as stated in the 2018 ACOTE Standards C.1.0. In this role you will collaborate with the Program Director and faculty and clinical partners/fieldwork educators to ensure integration of fieldwork and didactic curriculum. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is also responsible for leading the implementation of strategic initiatives related to fieldwork/clinical education.

The Department of Occupational Therapy is part of the School of Health Sciences.   • Establish and maintain fieldwork agreements in accordance with all university policies, site-specific requirements, and ACOTE standards
  • Develop and/or identify, implement, and monitor strategies to ensure the efficiency of fieldwork operations in meeting accreditation and institutional requirements
  • Ensure ties between didactic and fieldwork education through collaboration with OT faculty and clinical sites
  • Develop and/or identify, and implement strategies to support the success of fieldwork educators and students
  • Collaborate with the Program Director in evaluating of the effectiveness of fieldwork and identify areas for program enhancement
  • Apply evidence-based/scholarly approaches in directing or managing fieldwork operations

Education Requirements:

  • Earned post-professional doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) required


  • The academic fieldwork coordinator must be:
    • licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Connecticut
    • hold an active NBCOT registration as an OTR
    • an active member of AOTA
  • Minimum of 10 years of documented experience as an occupational therapist. This experience must include:
    • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist with experience working with occupational therapy assistants and supervising occupational therapy students
    • Administrative and supervisory experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, record-keeping, and marketing/promotion
    • Volunteer service to a professional organization in the role of or relevant to occupational therapy
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • Academic appointment in adjunct/part-time or full-time capacity of 1+ at the post-baccalaureate/graduate level
    • Evidence of scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning) through publication or presentations
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
