Quinnipiac University is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Quinnipiac University Center for Survey Insights, where you will have the opportunity to shape the future of survey research and contribute to the University's esteemed reputation.
The Director of the Quinnipiac University Center for Survey Insights (CSI) advances Quinnipiac’s commitment to building the university of the future by developing, implementing and growing Quinnipiac’s new commercial survey research entity. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage the national reputation of Quinnipiac University and its well known, highly respected Poll. We are looking for someone who will build relationships and a business on the foundation of a research enterprise.
Reporting to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications, the Director of the Center for Survey Insights collaborate with deans, faculty and leaders across the University to create a business model that leverages the strengths of faculty and staff in the development and delivery of survey research projects for clients. The Director will lead critical business functions including new client prospecting and business development, project scoping, contract development and invoicing. The Director, often working in close collaboration with faculty and others, will lead and/or oversee survey methodology and design, questionnaire development, data collection, data analysis, presentation of all research findings/insights, including preparing executive reports for clients. The director will also be responsible for all ongoing client relationship management. The Director will actively solicit, create, scale and manage resources across schools and departments and serve as a conduit to engage Quinnipiac University expertise to meet internal and external needs and opportunities.

Responsibilities: |
- Leads the development of an ongoing strategic business plan and operating model for CSI
- Leads new business development function
- Assembles and manages a team of QU faculty research experts to serve as resources to support research projects
- Assembles and nurtures a team of research experts from outside the university to also support research projects
- Identifies research project opportunities and leads the development of research proposals
- Oversees all research related components and outcomes of projects
- Manages all aspects of client projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and under limited supervision
- Identifies and helps resolve project management problems regarding data collection, database design, statistical analysis and report production
- Leads strategic efforts to grow survey research offerings that anticipate and respond to the research needs of prospective clients
- Work with Marketing and Communications to advertise/market CSI internally and externally
- Assures a climate and culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned

Education Requirements: |
- Advanced degree required (Ph.D. preferred) in survey methodology, business, statistics, marketing, or related field
- Years of related experience may substitute for education requirement

Qualifications: |
- Minimum of 10 years survey design, survey project management, or related experience
- Experience developing, designing, and implementing research activities from sampling and questionnaire design through dataset preparation and analysis for research projects
- Statistical analysis skills
- Project management skills
- Experience in developing business strategy and making data-driven decisions
- Substantial experience and success with new business development and building a business organization
- Excellent and effective interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills
- Demonstrated record of leadership, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Financial and analytical acumen for budget/P&L management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel required; Proficiency with PowerPoint or other data visualization tools preferred
- Experience involving quantitative research methods preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
