Quinnipiac University invites applications for an Assistant Athletic Director—an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated fundraising professional to help elevate our Blue & Gold Society and champion Division I Bobcat Athletics.
The Assistant Director will be a front-line fundraiser focused on creating external and engaging relationships with alumni, parents, donors and prospects in support of Bobcat Athletics. The Assistant Director will be a highly collaborative individual as they will work directly with the QU Athletic Director, Bobcat Athletics leadership team and coaches, while reporting into Associate Athletic Director for Development/Director of Development for Athletics within the Division of Development and Alumni Affairs.

Responsibilities: |
- Cultivate alumni and donor relationships to secure annual gifts of $2,500–$50,000, meeting metrics and documenting activity in CRM.
- Lead and grow the Blue and Gold Society, coordinating leadership annual giving strategies with the development team
- Partner with the Associate AD for Development to drive Athletic Advisory Council fundraising, focusing on acquisition, retention, and upgrades
- Manage a portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects, independently developing and executing solicitation strategies
- Support Bobcat Athletics fundraising by informing leadership, preparing coaches/administrators for donor engagement, and aligning with strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with Annual Giving on signature campaigns including Bobcat Challenge, Giving Tuesday, and Bobcats Unite
- Assist with Athletics fundraising events such as dedications, receptions, Hall of Fame, and alumni gatherings
- Contribute to branding efforts for Athletics philanthropy within the comprehensive campaign
- Coordinate with Development Communications to produce digital outreach including social media and email marketing
- Recruit, organize, and train volunteers to support Bobcat Athletics fundraising
- Partner with coaches to implement sport-specific leadership annual giving programs
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements: |
- Bachelor's degree required
|
Qualifications: |
- 1–3 years of fundraising experience, with a track record of securing philanthropic investments
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel and work evenings/weekends to meet with donors and attend athletic events
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to represent the institution professionally
- Proven ability to secure appointments, qualify prospects, and close gifts through multi-year cultivation strategies
- Experience in stewardship planning that leads to continued donor engagement
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset and flexibility in dynamic environments
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive donor and institutional information
- Skilled in preparing detailed proposals and campaign materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and donor database systems
- Knowledge of fundraising principles, preferably in college athletics or higher education
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex environments and respond to competing priorities
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
