||Quinnipiac University seeks applications for a Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards. In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight of individual and organization behavioral standards, implement a comprehensive educational process focused on responsible citizenship, and educate members of the University community to fully understand their individual rights and responsibilities.

- Lead the operation of the Student Code of Conduct System including the database program that maintains the system, assuring conformity with the Student Code of Conduct and other University policies, consistency of application, fundamental fairness, rights of students, conduct assessment and accurate record keeping
- Serve as a senior conduct officer and hear cases that may result in a separation from the institution and/or high-profile cases
- Meet with students to review the conduct and appeal process and prepare them for their meetings
- Directly hire, train, develop, and supervise the Associate Director of Student Conduct
- Train and assist all conduct officers, resident assistants, and orientation leaders with the conduct process in regard to procedures, meetings, sanctioning and record keeping
- Partner with university constituents, including but not limited to, residential life, public safety, health & wellness, and the Title IX coordinator regarding student conduct matters
- Represent the office at New Student Orientation sessions for students and families
- Develop and maintain correspondence as appropriate concerning current and past student behavior
- Update the Student Code of Conduct process and system
- Develop and promote a comprehensive educational program for the community focused
- on responsible citizenship
- Confirm past conduct history as necessary for transfer and graduate applications, study abroad, and leadership positions according to university policy
- Review conduct sanctions to assure consistency and compliance with institutional policies and standards
- Oversee conduct planning, goals, and assessment initiatives and projects
- Oversee the budget for the student conduct office
- Assist the on-call staff with crisis intervention and appropriate action related to interim measures
- Responsible for the review, revision and dissemination of the Student Handbook, which outlines the code of conduct for all QU students, updating policies and procedures in accordance with legal and policy developments at the state and national level as needed
- Serve as a member of the CARE Team
- Respect and maintain appropriate confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy
- Maintain active membership and involvement in statewide, regional, and national associations related to student conduct
- Serves on university-wide committees
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or his/her designee
- This position requires the ability to work some evening and weekend hours to support a primarily residential campus and will be required to serve in the Administrator on-call rotation
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or similar field required
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience of related experience in the areas of judicial affairs, residence life and/or alcohol and other drug education
- Demonstrated dedication to the principles and values of the field of student judicial affairs
- Knowledge of student development theory and student conduct processes, and applicable laws such as: the Clery Act, Title IX, the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (Campus SaVE) Act, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, management, budgetary, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to exercise superior judgment and discretion are required
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to manage and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs
- Experience with Maxient
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
