Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty & capstone coordinator position in occupational therapy. The Doctoral Capstone Coordinator (DCC) is mainly responsible for ensuring program compliance with capstone requirements as stated in the 2018 ACOTE Standards D.1.0. The DCC collaborates with the Program Director, scholarship coordinator, faculty and community partners/capstone educators to ensure integration of capstone and didactic curriculum. The DCC is also responsible for leading the implementation of strategic initiatives related to the doctoral capstone.

The Department of Occupational Therapy is part of the School of Health Sciences.   • Coordinate the development, preparation, implementation, and completion of doctoral capstone experiences according to the curriculum design
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community, clinical, academic, and relevant organizational entities to serve as capstone sites
  • Develop and/or identify, implement, and monitor strategies to ensure the efficiency of capstone operations in meeting accreditation and institutional requirements
  • Ensure ties among didactic, fieldwork, and capstone through collaboration with faculty and partners
  • Develop and/or identify, and implement strategies to support the success of capstone faculty, site educators/mentors, and students
  • Collaborate with the Program Director in evaluating of the effectiveness of capstone and identify areas for program enhancement
  • Apply evidence-based/scholarly approaches in evaluating, directing, and/or managing capstone operations

Education Requirements:

  • Post-professional doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) required


  • The capstone coordinator must be:
    • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Connecticut
    • Hold an active NBCOT registration as an OTR
    • An active member of AOTA
  • The capstone coordinator must have a minimum of 10 years of documented experience as an occupational therapist. This experience must include:
    • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist with experience working inter-professionally and supervising occupational therapy students
    • Administrative and supervisory experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, record-keeping, and marketing/promotion
    • Volunteer service to a professional organization in the role of or relevant to occupational therapy
    • For tenure-track appointment, evidence of scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning) through publication or presentations
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • Academic appointment in adjunct/part-time or full-time capacity of 1+ at the post-baccalaureate/graduate level.
