Overview: Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics & Recreation seeks applications for a Fitness Center Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operation of university fitness centers located on the three university campuses. In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision of fitness equipment and fitness center staffing.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA, MAAC Conference, ECAC Conference and Big East Conference rules and regulations
  • Supervise equipment maintenance, repair and daily cleaning
  • Recruit, train, supervise, mentor and develop a diverse fitness staff
  • Schedule the front desk and supervisor staff for the Fitness Center on all campuses
  • Manage budgeted hours for staff in conjunction with Student Employment protocol and utilize the Kronos system for staff payroll
  • Work with other recreation staff in programming fitness facilities
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures as they apply to recreation and its programs
  • Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree in recreational sports administration or related field preferred
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or ability to obtain the certifications upon hire)
  • NIRSA member preferred
  • Entrepreneurial
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational leadership and supervisory skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team as well as have the ability to work in a diverse university environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
