Quinnipiac University's School of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Occupational Therapy at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. In this role, you will teach primarily in the post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate program including the Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies program, and may be assigned teaching and advising duties in the entry-level program.

This is a full-time, 12-month position.

About the School/Program:

The Department of Occupational Therapy is part of the School of Health Sciences. The School of Health Sciences offers a comprehensive spectrum of health science programs designed to address the evolving health needs of a diverse society. Building upon a solid foundation in the basic sciences and liberal arts and using innovative teaching and hands-on experience, the School of Health Sciences seeks to integrate theory, research, and practice to best prepare health care practitioners and biomedical scientists who can demonstrate leadership in their disciplines and in the global community. The School of Health Sciences offers a student-centered learning environment with inter professional collaboration within and across the schools and colleges of the University.

The Department of Occupational Therapy offers two post-professional programs for occupational therapists who want to merge their current experience with prevailing scholarship: the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies and the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD).

The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies is an online, two-semester program that provides current occupational therapists with an exploration of evidence-based research and writing. Students may select from two tracks: School-based Practice or Teaching and Learning. Students may complete the Advanced Graduate Studies as a stand-alone certificate or may use this program as a bridge into the post-professional OTD program.

The Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program is designed for working adults and provides a high quality online education that builds upon the unique clinical experiences of each student, enabling students to become “agents of change” within their professional community.
